By default, part of a digital marketer’s job includes constantly learning new techniques and trends. Not only that, but technology is often changing — Facebook changes its algorithm, WordPress changes its dashboard layout, Google updates its platforms. It’s daunting to think about staying on top of it all!
Luckily, the digital world has given us a wealth of free (and paid) resources. Here are a few of my favorites that I hope will help you become a better marketer!
My favorite way to wake up in the morning is to go on a walk with my dogs and zone out with a podcast. Whether I learn something or it simply inspires me for the day, it’s always well worth it!
Here are a few I keep coming back to:
1. Jenna Kutcher’s Goal Digger Podcast
If you’re in digital marketing and you’re not listening to Jenna’s podcast, you’re seriously missing out on information that is gold.
On each episode, Jenna features guests who have been successful in a wide variety of industries — modeling, Etsy, online courses, graphic design, to name a few. You’ll also learn valuable tips for every aspect of marketing, from creating an email list to entering the world of affiliate marketing.
Seriously, go give it a listen!
2. Girlboss
This one has well-rounded insight for marketing and entrepreneurship!
1. Hubspot
This is my absolute go-to. If you google a marketing-related question, there’s a good chance that Hubspot has written a (good) blog post about it.
I recently came across this blog and they offer helpful tips for everything — whether it be social media, SEO or email marketing.
3. Moz Blog
Moz is more for SEO, but they’re always talking about the latest trends.
4. OptinMonster
This is a great, well-rounded marketing blog.
5. Ahrefs Blog
A must if you need help with SEO!
This is hands-down the best newsletter I get in my inbox everyday. They share tips for SEO, PR, email marketing, social media, design and more AND they’re funny. Sign up here.
If part of your job is email marketing, I highly recommend this one. Their website also has great email design inspiration.
Although the notifications can get obnoxious at times, I’ve found so many great resources through Facebook groups. And the best part? You don’t even need to post anything on there — oftentimes someone will have posted your question already.
2. The Daily Carnage (such a great resource in general)
3. Women Helping Women Entrepreneurs
There you have it! Whether you’re launching a new company, just starting out in marketing or you’re freelancing, and I hope these resources help you become a better marketer.
And if this all feels overwhelming…well, you know who to call!
